Key features

Gobbler is the most efficient way to import DICOMDIR to PACS, it:
  • Lives mostly in the system tray, and shows polite little bubbles as it works.
  • Always watches for CDs, DVDs and USB sticks with DICOM files, especially those that contain DICOMDIR folders.
  • Finds the first DICOM file, determines the patient name, and prompts you for a Patient ID.
  • Slips back into the tray, and then:
    • Replaces the Patient ID of all of the images
    • Optionally, decompresses JPEG studies to RGB for, e.g., Merge compatibility
    • Attempts to send all instances to PACS
  • DICOM Gobbler also reports any failures, saving exams to a temporary folder that you can access later.
  • Best of all, DICOM Gobbler is unobtrusive and easy to use. You don’t have to think about it at all unless you insert a DICOM disc.

System requirements

  • Windows 7 or higher
  • Microsoft .NET 4.0 Client Profile (downloaded automatically during installation)
  • A DICOM 3.0 compliant PACS
  • A CD/DVD tray or USB port
  • Enough hard drive space for one drive’s worth of instances, so, typically less than around ~1 GB.
